Director NIT Srinagar relieved of duties
Srinagar, Jan 9 : The Director National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar Professor Sudhakar Yedla has been officially relieved of his responsibilities.
The order in this regard has been issued by the Union Ministry of Higher Education based on an official communication submitted by Prof Sudhakar Yedla to the Ministry on January 4.
The communication was submitted to Union Ministry of Higher Education following the one received by Prof Yedla on December 26, 2023, from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai.
According to the order, the competent authority has approved the relieving of Prof Sudhakar Yedla from his role as Director of NIT, Srinagar from January 9.
As per the order, the additional charge of the Director NIT, Srinagar, has been assigned to the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir, Prof A Ravinder Nath.
"The additional charge of the post of Director, NIT, Srinagar is hereby assigned to Prof A. Ravinder Nath with immediate effect for a period of six months or till further orders or joining of a regular Director at NIT, Srinagar, whichever occurs earlier," the order reads.
A copy of the order, issued by Under Secretary Union Higher Education Ministry Pawan Kumar, has been sent to Prof A Ravinder Nath to take over the charge of the post of Director, NIT, Srinagar "with immediate effect."
"Send the charge assumption report to this Ministry," the order reads.
As already reported, Prof Sudhakar Yedla was appointed as Director NIT Srinagar in May 2023, replacing Prof (Dr) Rakesh Sehgal who completed his tenure last year.
