Dilapidated roads, lack of drainage system irk Tawheedabad residents
Srinagar, Feb 26: Residents of Tawheedabad (A) Malbagh area of Hazratbal area here have expressed resentment against failure of authorities to repair dilapidated roads and lack of drainage system.
A delegation of aggrieved residents said that dilapidated roads coupled with waterlogging is taking a toll on them. “We face problems venturing out due to dilapidated roads. After rains, the roads in our area get waterlogged and we are unable to venture out. The dilapidated road has turned muddy in absence of repairs and our vehicles get stuck. In case of a medical emergency, we have to ferry patients on cots,” they said.
The residents said that they had taken over the matter with SMC and other departments. “Ironically these departments pass buck and blame paucity of funds to undertake road repairs and construct drainage systems. We make a fervent appeal to DC Srinagar to look into the matter,”
