Dilapidated road condition at picturesque Gantmulla reservoir irks visitors
Baramulla, Apr 4: Visitors to the famous Gantmulla Barrage have expressed their disappointment over the deteriorating condition of the roads leading to the picturesque location. Despite being a popular destination for locals and nature enthusiasts, the poor road infrastructure has become a major concern.
Gantmulla Barrage, known for its stunning reservoir and home to thousands of migratory birds, attracts hundreds of visitors daily from Baramulla town and beyond. However, the journey to this serene spot has become increasingly difficult due to large potholes that have emerged along the route, making travel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Muhammad Idrees, a local resident, highlighted the growing frustration among visitors. "This place is a well-known hangout for the people of Baramulla. Hundreds of people visit daily to enjoy the breathtaking view of the LJHP canal and reservoir. But the poor road conditions are ruining the experience," he said. Many visitors believe that improving the road infrastructure will enhance the appeal of the location and encourage more tourists to visit. "Since it's close to Baramulla town, families often prefer coming here. Better roads would make it even more attractive," Idrees added. Locals have urged the authorities to take immediate action and ensure that the roads leading to Gantmulla Barrage are repaired.
