Dilapidated Pantha Chowk to Pampore road stretch irks commuters
Srinagar, Mar 21: Commuters have expressed concern over the dilapidated road stretch from Pantha Chowk to Pampore.
A delegation of commuters said that the road is dotted with potholes and craters. “Several vehicles have been damaged while plying on the dilapidated road. The uneven surface poses a risk of accidents. Surprisingly, authorities have left this vital and busy road in shambles,” said Nisar Ahmad a commuter.
“My vehicles suffered massive damages after plying through potholes. I wonder why this road has been neglected?” he added.
The road is used by heavy vehicles including oil tankers. “Due to uneven road, there is a risk that heavy vehicles can skid and turn turtle. Authorities need to fix responsibility and undertake immediate repairs of this road to prevent mishaps,” they said.
