Dilapidated Pantha Chowk- Sempora road stretch irks commuters
Srinagar, Apr 21: The dilapidated Pantha Chowk-Sempora road stretch is causing immense inconvenience to commuters on the busy route.
The commuters said that the road has been in shambles for a long time, making the commute difficult.
Commuters in Srinagar and South Kashmir districts said that they often have to navigate a rough patch full of massive potholes, which is affecting the flow of traffic in the area.
"This road stretch has become a nightmare for us, and during peak hours, it triggers traffic jams. We appeal to the concerned authorities to repair the road so that we don't suffer,' said Adil Ahmad, a commuter from Pampore.
The commuters said that private vehicles, ambulances carrying patients have a tough time due to the dilapidated road. "There are elderly people, patients travelling via the road who face a lot of inconvenience due to the bad condition of the road," said the locals from the area.
The commuters said that the issue is also damaging their vehicles. They said that due to this issue, they have to go for the repair of their vehicles more often.
"Damage to our vehicles increases due to bad road conditions. I bought my vehicle just a year back, and it wears a shabby look as if it has been driven for years. The petrol prices are already high, and now we have to bear the burden of vehicle maintenance due to bad roads," said another commuter.
The commuters said that the Pantha Chowk-Sempora road stretch witnesses massive inter-district traffic, and the bad condition takes a heavy toll on them. They appealed to the concerned authorities to repair the road without any delay.
When contacted, the officials from R&B did not respond to calls from comments.
