Dilapidated lanes irks Gojwara residents
Srinagar, Feb 5: Residents of Gojwara area in Downtown have expressed resentment over dilapidated lanes in the locality.
The residents said that the link roads and alleys at Malik Sahib area of Gojwara have been in a bad state for years.
The residents said that lanes in the area are in shambles causing inconvenience to commuters.
“We have been reaching out to authorities for a long time, but no one is paying heed to our problem. These lanes have become a matter of concern as scores of children and elderly walk along these lanes. There is fear of accidents due to potholes in these lanes,” said Asif Ahmad, a local.
The residents said that despite many requests to the administration, no restoration work has been started on these lanes. “There is a middle school in the area, and many young students walk along these lanes while going to tuition. There is a risk of injuries to them,” said another local.
The locals said that during downpour, there is waterlogging and the situation gets worse. They appealed to the authorities to look into the issue and address it without further delay.
