Dilapidated lanes irk Nowhatta residents
The caved-in and dilapidated lanes at Gojwara area of Nowhatta in Downtown is causing immense inconvenience to locals.
The residents said that the link roads and alleys at Gojwara have been dilapidated for years, and no measures have been taken to undertake repairs.
"Lane in our Malik Sahab locality has now caved in and authorities are looking the other way. All the residents are facing inconvenience while or walking in the dilapidated lane," said Ajaz Ahmad, a local.
The locals said that the lanes lead to a local school and a community hall and there is a major footfall of students who face inconvenience due dilapidated road.
"These young students often face issues while using this lane. Many parents drop off their children on two-wheelers, and the caved-in road creates a major problem while commuting," said another local.
The aggrieved residents said that during downpours, the lanes turn into cesspools due to the potholes. They appealed to the authorities to look into the issue and address it without further delay.
