Dilapidated Burzahama-Hazratbal road irks commuters
Srinagar, Nov 12: The caved-in road near Ibrahim Colony Burzahama is posing a risk of accidents on the stretch.
The commuters and locals said the road near the receiving station is causing inconvenience to commuters and has been neglected for a long now
“The road has developed huge potholes and vehicles get damaged after passing over the dilapidated road. There was a handpump leakage near the road, which caused the issue. Although the leakage was fixed, the damaged road has been left as it is,” said a local.
The commuters said that their vehicles are getting damaged and during rains, the waterlogging adds to the problem.
“In the past, many e-rickshaws, two-wheelers, and other vehicles had narrow escapes. This is the main road connecting us to the city, and it has been left in a dilapidated condition,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, a commuter.
The locals said that the elderly and children are unable to walk on the road. They said after sundown, it gets tough for pedestrians to walk around. The aggrieved locals appealed to the SMC authorities to address the issue.
