Dhul Hijjah moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Adha on June 7 in J&K: Grand Mufti

Srinagar, May 27: The crescent for the last month of Islamic calendar – Dhul Hijjah – was not sighted anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir, announced Grand Mufti J&K Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi here.

“No testimony was received from any part of Jammu and Kashmir vis-a-vis sighting of the moon for the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah (1446 A.H),” Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam conveyed, adding, “the month (Dhul Hijjah) as such will begin from Thursday (May 29, 2025).”

“The auspicious festival of Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated on June 7, 2025 (Saturday),” he said. (Alfaaz-The Words)
