DHSK conducts 2-day tour to Gurez, Bandipora
Srinagar, Nov 16: The Director of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) conducted a two-day tour of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to assess winter preparations.
Dr M A Rather, accompanied by CMO Bandipora, BMO Gurez and other health officers, inspected healthcare arrangements and facilities in Gurez and other health facilities.
During the visit, Dr. Rather visited CHC Dawer and other hospitals where he commended the dedicated staff for their tireless efforts under challenging circumstances.
He also engaged with local residents and assured them that genuine demands would be promptly addressed. Additionally, he met with PRI members to discuss the status of healthcare arrangements.
The Director emphasized the need for Chief Medical Officers to conduct routine field visits and maintain rosters for assessments at sub-center, PHC and CHC levels.
He directed CMO and BMO concerned to make all necessary arrangements ahead of winter as Gurez usually remains cut off with the rest of the valley due to heavy snowfall.
He advised them to keep adequate staff, drugs and other logistics available in the area so that people living in the area won’t face any difficulty.
Director also visited different institutes of the Tulail area and took stock of all facilities and interacted with staff.
Today during the Viksit Bharat Sanklap yatra, Director Health Services along with joint Director NCDC CMO Bandipora BMO Gurez received additional Secretary PMO MS Punya Salila Srivastava IAS at Dawar Gurez.
Director Health Services and Joint Director NCDC along with Additional Secretary visited the stall of the Health department where different schemes run by the health department were displayed and distributed Golden Card and ABHA Card to Beneficiaries.
The director took a review meeting at District Hospital Bandipora where directed CMO and MS to make rotational arrangements till vacancies were filled.
He directed them to take steps to enhance healthcare facilities across the district.
Officials said that these visits aim to enhance healthcare services and address any issues at various hospitals in the region.
The tour was part of an ongoing effort to improve healthcare facilities and services across different healthcare centers,they said .
Notably few days before the Director visited far flung areas of Kupwara, Keran and Tangdhar to assess healthcare arrangements in the region.
