DGP to place Rs 10 Cr at CRPF’s disposal

Jammu, May 11: J&K Home department Wednesday sanctioned advance drawal of Rs 10 Cr in favour of Director General of Police (DGP), J&K for placement at the disposal of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for maintenance and improvement of basic facilities for (CRPF) units deployed in J&K.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the advance drawal of an amount of Rs 10,00,00,000 by the Director General of Police, J&K, together with the release of funds under Activity “HOMSS2021100269-CRPF SRE” Detailed Head 115-Works, Sub-Head 0740-Internal Security (SRE), related to Major Head 4055-COOP, for the current fiscal 2024-25,” read an order issued by Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti.

“The funds released shall be placed at the disposal of ADG, J&K Zone, CRPF for utilization towards maintenance and improvement of basic facilities for CRPF units deployed in J&K,” Bharti directed.

He, however, cautioned that advance drawal sanction was subject to certain conditions viz., FA/CAO, PHQ would vouchsafe the availability of funds and they (funds) would be utilized for the specific purpose after fulfilling all coda formalities.

“The funds shall neither be parked nor diverted in any case. Utilisation Certificates (UCs) and Red Account against the advance drawal shall be furnished to the concerned quarters well in time. PHQ shall impress upon CRPF to furnish the pending UCs/ Red Accounts within the shortest possible time frame,” Bharti ordered. “Sanction has been accorded with the concurrence of the Finance Department conveyed vide U.O No. FD-BDGT0D-2/9/2021-03-FD-Part(2)-(159390) dated May 6, 2024,” order read.
