DGP Swain, accompanied by his family, received news of the fire incident during his tour and immediately changed  his plans to assess the situation firsthand. The top story of the orphanage building in Bagh-i-Islam, Baramulla, was engulfed in flames, prompting a swift response from fire tenders in Baramulla, as well as personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and CRPF.

Expressing his concern, DGP  spoke to the media at the site, saying, "I was on a tour to Baramulla. As I heard about the fire incident in the orphanage building, I preferred to visit the gutted site to spend some time with the students there and to take stock of the situation. We will do whatever we can do to provide help to the management of the orphanage house."

The collective efforts were aimed to minimise the damage and ensure the safety of the students residing in the orphanage.

DGP Swain assured the public that every possible measure would be taken to assist the orphanage's management in the aftermath of this unfortunate incident.
