DGP reviews CI operations in Udhampur
Udhampur, Dec 4: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday visited the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district to review the ongoing anti-terror operations and assess the overall security preparedness in the region.
Official sources said the DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (Jammu zone) Bhim Sen Tuti, IG CRPF Gopal Rao, SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure, and senior officers from the CRPF and the Army during the high-level visit.
At Jophher, the DGP chaired a joint meeting of officers from all forces, during which he reviewed operational readiness, inter-agency coordination, and the evolving security situation in the area. He stressed the need for seamless synergy among all security units for effective counter-terror operations.
During his visit to various forward operating bases, Prabhat interacted with the deployed personnel and lauded their dedication while operating in challenging terrain and weather conditions. He urged them to maintain heightened alertness and ensure the safety and confidence of the local population.
The DGP also stressed the importance of stronger community engagement and improved public outreach, directing the forces to ensure timely grievance redressal to strengthen police–public relations.
He reviewed ongoing infrastructure upgrades and emphasized the need for modern equipment, enhanced mobility, and increased use of technology for swift operational responses.
Senior officers briefed the DGP about the current security scenario, recent developments, and measures taken to reinforce inter-agency coordination across the region.
