DG NCC, filmmaker Rohit Shetty, other delegations call on LG

Srinagar, May 17: Director General (DG) National Cadet Corps (NCC) Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan on Friday.

He was accompanied by the Additional Director General (ADG) NCC Directorate, J&K and Ladakh, Maj Gen Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva.

The DG NCC discussed with the LG various important matters about the expansion of NCC in J&K.

On the occasion, LG Sinha presented a citation to the NCC Directorate for its excellent performance and well-organised training in J&K.

Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Alok Kumar; Principal Secretary to LG, Mandeep Kumar Bhandari; Secretary, School Education Piyush Singla, and Director, Youth, Services and Sports, Subash Chander Chhibber were also present during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty also met LG Sinha at Raj Bhawan.

A joint delegation of All Sikh Minority Employees Association and All Employees Joint Association Kashmir (M) led by its President Jagmeet Kour Bali also called on the LG at the Raj Bhawan.

Several delegations including lawyers from Kashmir headed by Advocate Shafiq Ahmad Shah, civil society members and residents from Baramulla and Kokernag, and tribal community members from Bandipora and Baramulla also called on the LG.
