Srinagar, Feb 25: Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), GP Singh on Tuesday visited the paramilitary formations in Kokernag and Pulwama to assess the operational preparedness and review prevailing security scenario in south Kashmir.

During his visit, he interacted with CRPF personnel and held discussions with senior officers of the J&K Police and the Army, emphasising seamless collaboration to strengthen the security grid.

DG Singh’s first stop was the 164 Battalion CRPF headquarters in Kokernag, Anantnag, where he was warmly received by the officers and jawans. He held a comprehensive review of the security strategies, stressing the importance of proactive measures, intelligence-based operations, and seamless coordination among security forces to counter potential threats. "Seamless collaboration between the CRPF, J&K Police, and the Army is crucial for ensuring peace and stability in Kashmir. Our collective efforts will continue to fortify the region's security," DG Singh said during the interaction.

To further strengthen camaraderie, DG Singh shared a Badakhana (a traditional feast) with the troops, during which jawans spoke about their experiences, operational challenges, and personal stories. The informal engagement highlighted the deep bond between the force and its leadership, with DG Singh expressing pride in the dedication and resilience of the personnel stationed in the region. Later, DG Singh visited the 183 Battalion CRPF campus in Pulwama, in South Kashmir from a security standpoint. During the visit, he interacted with CRPF personnel and inquired about their routine duties, welfare, and ongoing operations. The top cop also met senior officers of the J&K Police from Awantipora, Pulwama, and Shopian to discuss collaborative security strategies.

The discussions focused on enhancing intelligence sharing, bolstering counter-terrorism operations, and ensuring a unified approach among the security agencies. DG Singh highlighted the significance of real-time communication and joint action to counter threats effectively. "Strategic coordination and intelligence sharing are the backbone of successful operations. Together, we stand strong in our commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of civilians," DG Singh said while addressing the officers. The CRPF chief also took stock of the welfare measures for the personnel deployed in these sensitive areas. He reassured the troops of the force’s commitment to their well-being and acknowledged their sacrifices in ensuring the nation’s security.
