DG BSF calls for strengthening anti-infiltration grid along LoC

Srinagar, Apr 13: Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal, called for the strengthening of the anti-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, following his visit to forward posts on Friday.

Agrawal visited several high-altitude forward locations along the LoC on Friday to assess the security situation and operational preparedness of the BSF.

During his visit, he emphasised the need for close coordination with the Army to enhance the effectiveness of the anti-infiltration grid.

The BSF operates under the operational control of the Army on the LoC, making coordination between the two forces crucial for maintaining security.

Agrawal’s call for strengthening the anti-infiltration grid comes in the backdrop of summer that might result in increased infiltration attempts from across the border.

The visit and subsequent directive by the BSF DG highlight the ongoing efforts by security forces to curb infiltration.

The BSF and the Army continue to work closely to strengthen the anti-infiltration grid and prevent any nefarious activities along the LoC in Kashmir.

During a meeting at the Frontier Headquarters of the BSF at Humhama on the outskirts of Srinagar, Agrawal highlighted the importance of enhancing security measures along the LoC.

He was accompanied by the Special Director General (DG) of BSF’s Western Command in Chandigarh, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, during his visit to the Kashmir Frontier between April 11 and 12.

The purpose of the visit was to review the security situation and operational preparedness of the BSF along the LoC, especially in light of the upcoming general elections.

Agrawal held discussions with senior BSF officials at Frontier HQ Humhama and visited high-altitude forward locations along the LoC to assess the ground situation.

Agrawal stressed the need for close cooperation between the BSF and the Army to strengthen the anti-infiltration grid on the LoC.

On the LoC, the BSF operates under the operational control of the Army, highlighting the collaborative effort required to maintain security in the region.

With the melting of snow on the passes, there is a potential for an increase in infiltration attempts, making it crucial for security forces to be on high alert.

The meeting and visit by the DG BSF underscore the ongoing efforts to enhance security measures in Kashmir, particularly in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
