DG BSF assesses preparedness along Kathua IB, Poonch LoC

Jammu, Mar :  Director General (DG) of Border Security Force, Daljit Singh Chowdhary has assessed the preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Poonch and Kathua districts of Jammu region.

During his two-day visit to Jammu Frontier, beginning on March 8, DG Border Security Force (BSF) was briefed on operational and other critical aspects by the field, sector and Battalion commanders.

He also interacted with women BSF soldiers on the occasion of International Women’s Day and lauded their commitment to nation’s service during “Prahari Sammelan.”

“On March 8, 2025, Daljit Singh Chowdhary, IPS, DG BSF, arrived on his two days visit to Jammu frontier. He visited Line of Control in Poonch district and was briefed on operational aspects by field commanders. On International Border, DG BSF visited border areas in Kathua district wherein he reviewed the security situation on IB and was briefed on the critical aspects by the sector commanders and Bn Commandants,” PRO BSF Jammu said, in an official statement.

PRO said that on the International Women’s day, DG BSF met Mahila Praharis (women BSF soldiers) at the border.

“During ‘Prahari Sammelan’, he appreciated them for their dedication and professionalism in service to the nation. He also felicitated BSF Mahila achievers in the field of operations, sports and training on International Women’s Day,” PRO BSF said.
