DEO Shopian reviews counting arrangements

Shopian, Oct 3: The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, conducted a thorough inspection of the Counting Centre at the Mini Secretariat Shopian today to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.

During the inspection, the DEO reviewed all facilities at the Counting Centres, including seating arrangements for candidates, agents, and other provisions for staff and stakeholders.

He examined the physical infrastructure being set up, including barricading for a hassle-free counting process, the provision of IT and communication systems, and security measures.

The DEO issued directives to ensure that all procedures strictly adhere to Election Commission guidelines, with an emphasis on continuous monitoring.

RO Shopian Shakoor Ahmad, Dy. DEO Jahanger Ahmad, DIO Showkat Hussain, DIO (Informatics) Ashfaq Ahmad, and other officials accompanied the DEO during the inspection.
