Demise of Fayaz Kaloo’s nephew widely condoled
Srinagar, Jan 18: The demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba, the nephew of Fayaz Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir, has been widely condoled by political, social, religious and trade organisations.
Baba passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday. People from different walks of life visited the bereaved family at Nallabal Nowshehra and extended their condolences. The Fateha Khawani will be held at 11 am on Sunday, January 19, at Nallabal Nowshehra graveyard.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Kaloo on his bereavement.
Dr Farooq and Omar Abdullah prayed for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
NC senior leader and Member of Parliament Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha segment, Mian Altaf Ahmed extended his deepest condolences to Fayaz Kaloo on the sudden demise of his nephew.
In a condolence message, Mian Altaf expressed his deep sorrow over the loss and offered heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and the bereaved family during this difficult time.
He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Veteran NC leader and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar also condoled the demise. “Extending my deepest condolences to both the bereaved Baba and Kaloo families over the passing of Manzoor Ahmed Baba, nephew of EIC @GreaterKashmir Fayaz Kaloo Sahab. Thoughts with the grieving families and prayers for the deceased. Allah grant the departed Jannat Ul Firdous. Ameen,” Sagar posted on X.
Senior NC leader Sajjad Shaheen expressed grief on the demise. “My deepest condolences to Fayaz Kaloo Sb, editor of @GreaterKashmir on the sad and untimely demise of his nephew. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give the family and loved ones strength to bear this tragic loss,” Shaheen posted on X.
Among others Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Showkat Mir, MLAs Shameem Firdous, Mubarak Gul, Mushtaq Guroo, Ahsan Pardesi, Salman Ali Sagar, Dr Bashir Veeri, have also extended heartfelt condolences with the bereaved Kaloo and Baba families. The leaders prayed for peace to the departed soul and much-needed strength to the bereaved.
NC’s state spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar expressed condolences to Fayaz Kaloo. “Heartfelt condolences with @GreaterKashmir EIC Fayaz Kaloo sb on the sad demise of his nephew Manzoor Ah Baba sb. Inna lillahi wa ina ilahi rajioun. Allah taala marhoom ki magfirat farmaye aur jannat mein jagah de. Aameen,” Dar wrote on X.
Senior politician Mohammad Khalil Band extended condolence to Fayaz Kaloo. “Heartfelt condolences to @GreaterKashmir Editor-in-Chief Fayaz Kaloo Sahib on the sad demise of his nephew, Manzoor Ah Baba Sahib. May Allah Ta'ala grant the departed soul maghfirat and a place in Jannat. Aameen.
PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY
On the directions from People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti, a party delegation led by general secretary Mohammad Khurshid Alam today expressed heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Kaloo.
The delegation, comprising senior party leaders Dr Ali Mohammad, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Arif Laigaroo, Haji Mohammad Ashraf, Qari Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, Fayaz Ahmad, Umar and Abdul Hameed Khan, visited the grieving family to offer their sympathies and support.
During the visit, the leaders expressed deep sorrow over the loss, praying for Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul eternal peace in the highest ranks of Jannat. They also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
"Manzoor Ahmad Baba’s passing has left a void that words cannot fill. The pain of losing someone so dear is unimaginable. We stand with Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and his family in their grief and pray for them to find strength and solace. The PDP delegation reaffirmed their support for the grieving family and extended unwavering solidarity during this time of profound sorrow.
Senior leader of PDP Mehboob Beg also condoled the demise. “My deepest condolences to Fayaz Kaloo Sb on the passing of his nephew. May Allah grant the departed soul a place in Jannat,” Beg posted on X.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) Legislative Party leader and MLA Pulwama, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra, also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of Manzoor Ahmed Baba.
“In condole the demise of the beloved nephew of Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief, Fayaz Kaloo Sahab. I extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Baba and Kaloo families. This is a tragic loss for the family and all those who knew Manzoor Ahmed Baba. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families during this hour of immense pain and sorrow. PDP stands firmly with them in this difficult time,” Parra said.

MLA Kulgam and CPI (M) leader M Y Tarigami also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Greater Kashmir's Editor-in-Chief Fayaz Kaloo following the demise of his nephew.
In his message, Tarigami prayed for the soul of the deceased, seeking eternal peace and Jannat for him. He also expressed profound sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family, offering support during this difficult time of loss.

J&K Apni Party’s senior leader and general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir on Saturday led a delegation of party leaders to visit the bereaved family of Manzoor Ahmad Baba and extended condolences to Fayaz Kaloo and other bereaved family members.
“The visiting delegation met with the grieving family members, expressing their solidarity and praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul. They also conveyed a message of condolence on behalf of the party president, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, expressing deep grief and sorrow over this profound loss,” Apni Party spokesperson said in a statement.

Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) and President of Pensioners United Front (JKPUF), Abdul Qayoom Wani, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba and extended condolence to Fayaz Kaloo.
“In a condolence message, Wani described the late Manzoor Ahmad Baba as a distinguished personality who made significant contributions to the industrial sector of Jammu and Kashmir. His untimely demise is a great loss to the community and the region as a whole,” Wani said.

Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) chairman Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq also expressed deep grief and shock over the demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba.
Mirwaiz conveyed his condolences to Fayaz Kaloo, the Baba family members, and relatives on this tragic loss. “The death of young Manzoor Ahmad Baba as a profound and heartbreaking blow to the Baba family and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul and patience to the bereaved family members,” Mirwaiz said.

J&K Jamait-e-Hamdani patron Moulana Mirwaiz Riyaz Hamdani and chief spokesperson GM Saqi condoled the demise and expressed condolence to Fayaz Kaloo and other bereaved family members. “We extend condolences to Fayaz Kaloo sahib on the tragic demise of his nephew. J&K Jamait-e-Hamdani patron and We pray for courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss,” Saqi said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Saturday extended its heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Kaloo.
In a statement, Nasir Khuehami, National Convenor of the Association, expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family. “The loss of a loved one is an indescribable tragedy, and our hearts go out to Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and his family during this profoundly difficult time. Bashir Ahmad Bashir, chairman, Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers and Dealers Union and President of The New Kashmir Fruit Association, Fruit Marketing Complex, Parimpora also condoled the demise.
“I and our members are deeply shocked to hear the sudden and sad news of the demise of Manzoor Ahmad Baba who was a good and noble man. Everyone from KVFG Union and NKFA expressed great sorrow on the sudden demise. We assure Fayaz Kaloo sahib that we equally share with the irreparable loss of you nephew. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and the strength for his family and loved ones to bear this tremendous loss. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat and bless his family with patience and fortitude,” Bashir said.
