Delhi Public School Budgam celebrates Cultural Day

Budgam, Oct 24: Cultural Day was celebrated on 18 October by class 1st of Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam.

“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people. Culture can be defined as all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that is passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called the way of life for an entire society. Our lives are woven tightly into our overall cultural identity which helps us to affirm cultural harmony in preview of the multitude of cultures in our region,” DPS said in a statement/

The event included a bonanza of cultural performances as the students presented a glimpse of the Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi and Gujrati culture through songs and many other mesmerizing performances. The event held the gracious presence of Pro VC DPS Budgam Mumtaz-u-Nisa Soz, Principal of the school Mehfooz Aslam and Junior School Incharge Tanveer Joo. Soz in her address appreciated the participants and the staff for their efforts. She further stated that Culture Day is an extremely significant tradition as it promotes cultural appreciation, global awareness, inclusivity, heritage preservation, and provides a form of academic enrichment for students.

The celebration was aimed to help the students keep one foot firmly rooted in their home culture, while also offering learning experiences that might not otherwise occur.
