Defunct streetlights irk Seki Dafar residents

Srinagar, Sep 12: Failure of authorities to provide electricity to streetlights at Seki Dafar area of Downtown is causing inconvenience to locals.

They said that later smart meters were installed at Nopora Seki Dafar and Safakadal, a month ago, the KPDCL authorities are refusing to reconnect the street lights in the area.

“We have been appealing to the KPDCL to restore power to the street lighting, but to no avail. KPDCL is saying SMC will reconnect these street lights. Due to a lack of coordination between the two departments, we are suffering. In the absence of street lights, we struggle to venture out in the evenings. We appeal to higher authorities to look into the issue and restore the power to street lights,” they added.
