New Delhi, May 4: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Japan’s Minister of Defence, Gen Nakatani, in New Delhi on May 5, 2025. The two leaders are expected to exchange views on regional and global security developments and explore avenues to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries further.

India and Japan enjoy a longstanding friendship that was elevated to the status of a Special Strategic and Global Partnership in 2014.

In recent years, defence ties between the two nations have grown stronger, driven by increasing convergence on strategic issues and a shared commitment to peace, stability, and a free and open Indo-Pacific.
