New Delhi, Mar 3: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has urged citizens to contribute wholeheartedly to the welfare of soldiers and their families, emphasising it as a national duty. Addressing the Armed Forces Flag Day Corporate Social Responsibility (AFFD CSR) Conclave in New Delhi, he highlighted the unwavering commitment of India’s soldiers, who stand firm at the borders, braving harsh conditions to safeguard the nation from various threats.
Rajnath Singh reiterated the Government’s dedication to strengthening national security and ensuring the well-being of military personnel and their families. However, he stressed that it is a collective responsibility for the nation to step forward and extend support in every possible way.
Highlighting the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Singh stated that it is not merely about a 2% contribution but about forging a deep, heartfelt connection with the brave soldiers and their dependents. Addressing corporate leaders, he remarked, “Whatever contribution you make, it will not be ordinary. Ensure that when your real balance sheet is prepared, it reflects more assets of satisfaction and happiness than liabilities.”
The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Narendra Modi-led Government to fostering private sector participation, asserting that the vision of Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat can be realized through collective efforts. He expressed confidence that with growing private sector involvement, India will emerge among the top three global economies by 2027. Singh also lauded corporate houses for their generous contributions to the AFFD Fund and recognized top CSR donors at the event.
