Decisive political unity can counter regional divides: Hakeem Yaseen
Srinagar, Jan 13: People’s Democratic Front (PDF) President and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Tuesday said that instead of indulging in divisive and region-centric politics, all political parties must work collectively for the overall progress of J&K and strongly demand the restoration of full and dignified Statehood.
In a statement, Hakeem Yaseen said that the politics of division has already caused immense damage to J&K. “Because of repeated political mistakes, Ladakh was separated, and now some fringe elements in Jammu are raising demands for a separate Jammu. Such moves are unacceptable and will not be tolerated as they threaten the unity, integrity, and historical identity of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He cautioned that such divisive narratives “badly affect the image of J&K both at the national and international level, and weaken its political and social fabric.” “These developments are not only harmful for Jammu and Kashmir but are also not good for the country as a whole,” he added.
