Death of 3 civilians in Bufliyaz | Police register murder case

Rajouri, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Poonch Sunday registered a murder case over the death of three civilians from Topa Peer village, located near DKG-Bufliyaz forests, where terrorists had ambushed the army vehicles on December 21 in Poonch district.

Death of three men created anger among locals although the Jammu and Kashmir government announced compensation and jobs on compassionate grounds for Next of Kin (NoK) of the deceased.

The deceased were identified as Safeer Hussain, 43, son of Mir Hussain; Mohammad Showket, 27, son of Nazir Hussain and Mohammad Shabir, 32, son of Wali Mohammad, all residents of Topa Peer in Bufliyaz of Surankote in Poonch district.

After the terrorists' attack on Thursday, the army detained many people in the areas close to the site and three men, who died in mysterious circumstances, were among the detainees.
The death of these civilians caused widespread anger among locals, who called for action as per law of land.

Following it, the police, taking cognizance of the matter, registered a murder case over the killing of civilians on Sunday.

Official sources said that a case in FIR 383/2023 under section 302 IPC was registered in Surankote police station.

In the FIR registered in police station Surankote, it was mentioned that some locals were detained by army after the terror attack and three of the detained men died as they succumbed to their injuries.

The Indian Army had already issued a statement on Sunday in which it was mentioned that it would extend its cooperation in the conduct of investigation, related to the incident of death of three local men.
