DDC Shopian orders disengagement of RDD official, FIR over fund misappropriation

Shopian, Nov 16: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, issued directions for the disengagement of services of a Rural Development Department (RDD) official and registration of an FIR against him.

The DDC has also ordered disciplinary action and an FIR against an under-suspension Panchayat Secretary.

The action came after both the officials were found involved in misappropriation of funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Zrakan Panchayat of Keller block.

"The DDC has instructed the disengagement of a Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) and registration of an FIR. Similarly, disciplinary action and an FIR have been ordered against the under-suspension Panchayat Secretary." said an official.

He said that both officials were found involved in misappropriation of funds and making labour payments for non-executed works.

“The directions for the action have been communicated to the ACD, Shopian”, added the official.
