Srinagar, July 9: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of the Mission YUVA scheme in the district, emphasising the need for swift, coordinated, and time-bound processing of enterprise proposals to empower youth through self-employment.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the DC Office Complex, Labroo conducted a department-wise assessment of progress under the scheme and directed all stakeholder departments to ensure seamless coordination and accelerated sanctioning of cases. “Mission YUVA must become a viable platform to empower our youth through sustainable entrepreneurship. Delays must be eliminated through daily performance monitoring and stronger on-ground implementation,” the DC said.

Labroo instructed officials to hold District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) meetings every Wednesday without fail until all pending cases are processed. He also called for intensified efforts in verifying, processing, and uploading of cases on the dedicated Mission YUVA portal.

Reviewing the outreach efforts, the DC assessed the status of awareness campaigns at the Panchayat and municipal ward levels, stressing the need to cover all eligible youth across Srinagar. He was informed that 329 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been prepared and are being submitted to DLIC for approval.
