DC Srinagar reviews arrangements for celebration of Independence-Day

Srinagar, July 22: In order to ensure smooth celebration of forthcoming Independence-Day, 2024 in the District, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday convened a meeting of Officers from Civil and Police Administration.

At the outset, the DC reviewed in detail the arrangements/preparatory activities to be put in place by the respective Departments for seamless celebration of the national event, as Srinagar is hosting the main event on August 15, 2024 across Jammu and Kashmir. The DC emphasised the importance of National event and instructed that adequate sensitization of staff, pertaining to the significance and protocol of the day, particularly the flag code is imparted to their staff by District Officers.

He highlighted the need for meticulous planning and seamless execution of all arrangements to ensure a grand celebration of Independence Day-2024. On the occasion, the DC directed the Officers of all concerned Departments to work out a comprehensive plan in order to ensure all necessary preparations are made well in advance with regard to the March Past Parade, Cultural programmes, commentary proceeding on the event, Dais flowering and other related arrangements and proper synchronization of events.
