DC Srinagar interacts with Parimpora Fruit Mandi members on market issues
Srinagar, Oct 1: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday visited the Fruit Mandi at Parimpora and held an interactive session with the members of the Mandi to discuss key issues and developmental needs.
During the session, members projected certain demands and suggestions, including the establishment of a dedicated truck terminal, effective garbage disposal mechanisms, and upgradation of the approach road & link roads leading to the mandi, among others.
DC gave a patient hearing to the delegation and asked officials from SMC, R&B, SDM West, and other departments to submit a detailed report on the issues for its timely redressal.
On the occasion, the DC assured all possible support from the administration to address the needs of fruit growers and strengthen the horticultural infrastructure in the district. Following the meeting, the DC conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Mandi, and took stock of the ongoing macadamization work being undertaken by the R&B department.
The DC was informed that under NABARD, upgradation of Parimpora Fruit Mandi has been taken up for development of internal roads, parking site, block patches, external peripheral roads, construction of auction sheds etc.
