Srinagar, Aug 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today chaired the 2nd meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) here at DC Office Complex to review and approve applications under the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) in district.

The meeting focused on enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of farming in the district.

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed and discussed in detail the applications received from various sectors under the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP). After comprehensive deliberations, the Committee approved several cases from Agriculture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Fisheries, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry and allied sectors under the initiative.

On the occasion, DC highlighted the objectives of the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project. He said CIPS is aimed to contribute to a sustained increase in the incomes of households by improving the farming operations and competitiveness, besides building resilience against climate change. He directed all departments to implement the scheme in mission mode and ensure transparent, time-bound execution of approved projects.

He called upon the Bank authorities to integrate the bank processes with that of the JKCIP portal to streamline service delivery and enhance coordination. He stressed on giving swift approvals to the applications submitted by the beneficiaries in line with the scheme guidelines. He also emphasised timely sanctioning of the approved cases under priority sector.

DC stressed on swift processing and sanctioning of beneficiary applications, streamlining bank processes with the JKCIP portal, clearing pending cases, enhancing enrolments and ensuring timely processing of beneficiary data on Daksh Kisan portal.

He directed all implementing departments to ensure transparent and time-bound execution of the approved projects and called for regular follow-up and coordination so that the initiative yields tangible results in terms of productivity, employment generation and quality produce.

Meanwhile, DC also reviewed the progress under the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) in the district and underscored the need for inter-departmental coordination, robust implementation strategies, and regular evaluations to maximize the scheme’s impact on agricultural growth and employment generation in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, LDM (Banks) and other concerned.
