Ramban, Jun 22: In the wake of a fire incident at the BDO Office Sangaldan on Saturday evening, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Muhammad Alyas Khan, has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the cause of the blaze and determine accountability.

The committee has been tasked with conducting a detailed probe and submitting its findings at the earliest, officials said.

Following the incident, the DC, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDPO Gool, and Tehsildar Gool, visited the site to take stock of the situation. The officers reviewed the extent of damage caused and assessed the immediate need for restoration and public service continuity.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the prompt initiation of rescue and restoration efforts and issued instructions to concerned officers to ensure that essential administrative services at the BDO office are resumed without delay.

Officials said that restoration work has already been set into motion and necessary safety measures are being enforced to prevent further damage and disruption. ìThe administration is committed to restoring normalcy and ensuring accountability through a fair and transparent investigation,î an official statement said.

The fire, which erupted under unclear circumstances, raised concerns about infrastructure safety in key administrative buildings. The inquiry committee is expected to examine all angles, including possible lapses in fire safety and emergency preparedness.
