Kupwara, Feb 18: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Tuesday inaugurated critical care ambulance services at Quality Health Care Hospital in the Bramri area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, bolstering emergency medical response in the region.

Equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors and oxygen supply, the critical care ambulance would deliver prompt and specialised medical attention to critically ill and trauma patients which would effectively bridge the healthcare gap between rural primary health centers and urban tertiary hospitals.

Speaking at the event, DC Kupwara Ayushi Sudan emphasized the importance of efficient emergency medical services, particularly in remote areas, and highlighted the need for well-equipped ambulances and trained personnel.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara Prof Khursheed Ahmad Ganie and CMO Kupwara Dr Muhammad Ramzan commended the initiative, noting the initiative’s potential to improve healthcare accessibility.

Managing Director of the hospital, Dr Abdul Majeed Wani, on the occasion, assured that the ambulance service would operate 24x7 to ensure prompt medical assistance.

The event concluded with DC Kupwara inspecting the ambulance and interacting with medical staff, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to enhancing emergency healthcare infrastructure in the district.
