DC Kulgam chairs DCDC meeting, reviews Cooperative sector

Kulgam, Nov 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired the District Cooperative Development Committee meeting at the mini-secretariat Kulgam to review the Cooperative sector in the district.

During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Nazir Ahmad informed the chair that the department has taken several initiatives to strengthen the cooperative movement in the district. He gave an overview of the present status of cooperative societies in the district.

It was given out that there are 14 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), 11 poultry societies, 49 dairy cooperatives and 2 Farmer producers organization (FPO) in the district.

The DC urged the allied departments to work towards the objective of strengthening the cooperative movement in the district and deepening its reach to the grassroots level.

He directed the concerned officials to make vigorous efforts in order to realide the vision of Sahakar se Samridhi for strengthening the cooperative sector.
