DC Bandipora finalises Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) arrangements, visits Ahamshareef Shrine
Bandipora, Aug 26: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the smooth observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in the district.
On the occasion, DC directed the concerned departments to ensure availability of essential services including uninterrupted water and electricity supply, ambulances, security, transport and fire tenders.
She stressed that the district hospital shall remain in ready mode with separate beds earmarked for any emergency requirement, and further directed that such arrangements should become standard procedure for all major events, said an official statement.
During the meeting, DC directed CEO, Municipal Council Bandipora to work in close coordination with the Block Development Officer to ensure cleanliness near the religious sites. She directed Rural Development department to ensure necessary facilities including washrooms and drinking water arrangements at community hall Ahamshareef.
Keeping in view the possibility of unforeseen weather conditions, DC directed all stakeholders to remain on high alert to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the celebrations.
On the occasion, Food Safety Department, Legal Metrology, and Municipal Council Bandipora were directed to conduct regular market inspections to check the quality of food items and to check overpricing. DC directed the Tehsildar, Waqf Board to regulate hawkers and ensure that stalls do not cause traffic congestion during the festivities.
Earlier in the day, DC visited the revered Ahamshareef Shrine to personally inspect the arrangements being put in place for the devotees. She interacted with the officers on spot and directed them to ensure all facilities are made available well in advance for the smooth conduct of religious gatherings.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Tehsildar Bandipora, Administrative Officer Waqf Board Ahamshareef, besides other concerned officers and officials joined the meeting virtually.
