Anantnag, Jan 8: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syed Fakhruddin Hamid today formally launched the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 at an official ceremony held at Dak Bungalow Khanabal, here.

This significant launch aims to bring the government's vision of ‘Housing for All’ closer to reality by ensuring affordable housing for all eligible rural beneficiaries.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Anantnag provided an in-depth overview of PMAY-G 2.0, emphasizing its key objectives, implementation strategies, and benefits for rural households. A live demonstration of the online registration portal was conducted, showcasing its functionality and ease of use.

The surveyors deployed for the initiative received hands-on training on the mobile application and technical aspects of data collection. This training aims to ensure accurate and seamless registration of eligible beneficiaries.

The DC highlighted the transformative potential of PMAY-G 2.0 in enhancing rural housing and living standards. He urged the survey teams to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left unregistered and directed them to strictly adhere to the scheme's guidelines. He further emphasized the need for inter-departmental cooperation to facilitate smooth implementation and accurate data collection.

The DC also called upon the media to play a proactive role in raising awareness about the scheme to ensure its wider outreach among the rural population. He stated that the recently opened registration portal by the Ministry of Rural Development offers a significant opportunity for eligible beneficiaries to secure affordable housing.
