Jammu, Nov 12: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), following relaxation in the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024 by the J&K government, has revised the age eligibility for all categories of candidates.

The commission has also extended the last date for filling out the online application forms for J&K CCE-2024 up to December 2, 2024.

As per new criteria, in the case of Open Merit candidates, the age eligibility as of January 1, 2024, is 35 years; the candidates should not be born after January 1, 2003, and should not be born before January 1, 1989.

In the case of the Reserved category and In-Service candidates, the age eligibility is 37 years; the candidates should not be born after January 1, 2003, and should not be born before January 1, 1987.

Similarly, for Physically Challenged candidates, the age eligibility, as of January 1, 2024, is 38 years; the candidates should not be born after January 1, 2003, and should not be born before January 1, 1986.

Earlier on November 9, the J&K Government had revised the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024, prescribing a four-year relaxation in case of Open Merit candidates.

The following day, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) postponed the Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination – 2024, scheduled to be held on November 17, 2024.

“Consequent upon issuance of S O 539 dated November 9, 2024 by General Administration Department (GAD) and in continuation to Notification No 04-PSC(DR-P) of 2024 dated July 26, 2024, new eligibility age as on January 1, 2024 is substituted,” read JKPSC’s latest corrigendum to Notification No 04-PSC(DR-P) of 2024 dated July 26, 2024, while referring to GAD order.

“Further, the last date for filling the online application forms for J&K Combined Competitive Examination -2024 notified vide notification No 04-PSC(DR-P) of 2024 dated July 26, 2024, is hereby extended up to December 2, 2024. The last date for filling of application complete in all respects along with the requisite fee (online mode only) shall be December 2, 2024,” it has been notified by JKPSC.

Earlier, while postponing CCE-2024, JKPSC had stated that the fresh date for the said examination would be notified separately.

As per GAD notification, in the case of Open Merit candidates, the upper age limit has been raised from 31 years to 35 years while in the case of Reserved Category candidates and in-service candidates, the age limit has been raised to 37 years. Earlier, in their case, the age limit was 34 years. Similarly, in the case of Physically Challenged candidates, the age limit has been prescribed as 38 years. Earlier, this age limit was 35 years.
