Dangerously tilted electric pole removed in Baramulla

Baramulla, July 11: The authorities have finally removed an electric pole erected near the Bindas statue on tehsil road Baramulla which had dangerously tilted, posing a high risk of falling and potentially causing a severe mishap.

Earlier in May, Greater Kashmir carried a story highlighting the danger of a tilted electric pole to which several HT lines were tied and were dangling after the pole was broken at its base. The tilted pole posed extreme danger to hundreds of daily commuters on the busy tehsil road Baramulla.

An official said that following the issue the tilted high mass street light to which several electric lines were tied had been removed and a new high mass street light will be installed soon.

“A new high mass street light will be installed soon there,” he said. “There was apprehension that the damaged pole may cause some mishap so it has been removed on priority basis to ensure safety of the common people,” he added.
