Daga Kadal residents demand new transformer

Srinagar, Nov 17: The residents of Daga Kadal, Siddique Colony area of Lal Bazar Friday demanded a new transformer for the locality.

“As our colony is located at the tail-end of the area, we are suffering due to low voltage,” they said.

They said that during the previous winter, the electric transformer of the area got damaged over three times with the link getting down every time.

The residents said that they had brought this issue to the notice of the concerned authorities numerous times, however, nothing concrete had been done so far.

“We now request the concerned authorities including Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar and Additional Engineering Wing at Baghi Ali Mardan to immediately intervene in this regard so that the miseries being faced by the people come to an end,” the locals said.

They said that senior citizens and patients in the area who are on oxygen concentrators, the ailing, and the children are the worst sufferers during this harsh winter.

Locals demanded installation of a new transformer in the area so that people in the area do not have to suffer anymore.
