New Delhi, Oct 23: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Thursday approved capital acquisition proposals worth about Rs 79,000 crore to boost the capabilities of the Armed Forces.

Key approvals include the procurement of the Nag Missile System (Tracked) Mk-II, Ground-Based Mobile ELINT Systems, and High Mobility Vehicles for the Army; Landing Platform Docks, lightweight torpedoes, and smart ammunition for the Navy; and a Collaborative Long Range Target Destruction System for the Air Force.

According to the Defence Ministry, the acquisitions will strengthen India’s operational readiness and promote indigenous defence manufacturing.
