Cybercrime help desk for Women launched in Jammu Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 24 : A three-day exhibition on the new criminal laws concluded in Jammu with the Cybercrime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), headed by IPS officer M Y Kichloo, adjudged as the overall best performer.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, and featured 17 stalls set up by various wings of the police including the Crime Branch, district police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Cyber Police Station Jammu, Women Police, Fingerprint Bureau, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Special Crime Wing (SCW), Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and the Prosecution Branch. Thousands of visitors, including students, attended the event to gain awareness about the new laws and the functioning of different police units.

According to officials, the CICE stall drew maximum footfall, particularly from students and the public, and demonstrated the centre’s work in handling cybercrime. Visitors were also introduced to various digital portals and the 1930 helpline for cybercrime complaints. A dedicated CybHer Help Desk for women was inaugurated by the DGP during the exhibition, in the presence of senior officers including ADGP (Armed) Anand Jain, IPS, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, IGP Crime Branch Sujeet Kumar, IPS, and DIGs from Doda and Jammu ranges.
