Cyber Police Kashmir warns social media influencers to refrain from promoting betting apps, fraudulent investment schemes
Srinagar, Dec 25: Cyber Police Kashmir on Wednesday asked social media influencers and youtubers to refrain from promoting betting apps, fraudulent investment schemes or fake work-from-home job offers, saying such actions are punishable under the law.
It said the police is closely monitoring such activities, and those found involved in duping innocent people will be dealt strictly.
The Cyber Police Kashmir urged general public to report such suspicious activities.
“Attention Social Media Influencers & YouTubers:Refrain from promoting betting apps, fraudulent investment schemes, or fake work-from-home job offers. Such actions not only mislead the public but are also punishable under the law,” Cyber Police Kashmir in a post on X said.
“Cyber Police Kashmir is closely monitoring these activities. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found advertising or endorsing such fraudulent platforms. Stay responsible,” the post on X said.
“Report suspicious activities to Cyber Police Kashmir,” the post added.
