Cultural function held in Tangmarg, 3 poetry books released
Baramulla, July 7: A daylong cultural function was held at the residence of famous sofi poet Abdul Rashid Shahbaz at Ogmuna, Kunzar on Sunday.
The function was organised by Bazmi Adab Gulmarg in collaboration with Cultural Academy Kashmir. On this occasion three poetry books of Shahbaz, "Thap Ditchem Lolan Amaras" "Rubayate Shahbaz" and "Tung Assay Gaumtch Hayat" were released.
Abdul Aziz Betab, Mehboob and Tawseef Raza presented the review of the three books respectively.
Noted poets and literary organisations and people from the literary circles were present on the occasion which include Professor Shad Ramzan, Hassrat Gadda, Fayaz Tilgami, Raheem Rehbar, Hilal Kashmiri, Bashir Kounsar, Dr Basharat Amin, Gulshan Badrani, Mir Afroz Afroz, Professor Muzafar Shirazi and Columnist Ahmad Kashmiri.
Professor Shad Ramzan and Hassrat Gadda spoke on the status and importance of Kashmiri language and said that Kashmiri was not dying, instead it was flourishing .
The speakers praised the poetic standard of Shahbaz and placed him parallel with Andul Ahad Azad in many parameters of the poetry.
The speakers and the audience prayed for the health of the ailing poet who despite being ill released his poetry in the form of books. The poet has now six books published covering issues from religion to the social fabric of Kashmir.
