CUK signs MoU with INFLIBNET to strengthen university’s digital learning infrastructure

Ganderbal, Oct 23: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the university’s digital learning infrastructure through the implementation of an advanced Integrated Learning Management System (ILMS).

The collaboration aims to provide better access to e-resources and support academic and research activities.

According to the MoU, the INFLIBNET Centre will provide the ILMS setup using open-source software, customize the platform, and offer training, support, and hosting services. The Central University of Kashmir will be responsible for managing user enrollment and course content.

This collaboration is expected to significantly improve the university’s digital learning environment and contribute to the academic growth of its faculty and students.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath extended his congratulations to the Directorate of Information Technology and Support Services (ITSS) for successfully signing the MoU. He commended Prof. Rana Hashmy, Director of ITSS, for her persistent efforts in formulating and advancing the agreement. He urged the ITSS team to ensure the proper implementation of the MoU so that it benefits all stakeholders at the university.

Dean of Academic Affairs Prof Shahid Rasool and Registrar Prof M Afzal Zargar also emphasised the importance of fully implementing the MoU to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from the initiative.

Speaking about the significance of the agreement, Prof Hashmy stated that the ILMS will enable the university to upload and organise academic resources on a dedicated portal, as well as provide access to over 1,000 e-resources spanning various topics. “This development is expected to enhance both teaching and learning experiences at the university.”
