CUK reiterates zero tolerance to sexual harassment
Ganderbal, Dec 6: The CUK has reiterated the university’s commitment about zero tolerance on sexual harassment.
To foster a safe and inclusive work environment at all the campuses, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) poster on prevention of sexual harassment at workplace was launched by the VC, ICC Chairperson, Deans and ICC members.
Prof A Ravinder Nath, unveiled an informative and empowering poster on the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace, at varsity’s Green Campus here Friday and applauded the efforts of the Chairperson and Committee members.
The programme was also attended by Dean, School of Business Studies, Prof Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, Dean School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Prof Mohammad Yousuf, Dean School of Legal Studies, Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof A Ravinder Nath, reiterated the university’s commitment about zero tolerance on sexual harassment.
He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to provide a safe and supportive workplace for all its stakeholders, including students, scholars, faculty, and staff. He emphasised, “Sexual harassment in any form undermines the principles of respect, equality, and professionalism. At CUK, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy and are committed to taking prompt and appropriate action to address complaints. This poster is not just an awareness tool, but a declaration of our collective responsibility to ensure a harassment-free environment."
The launch of the poster was organised by the ICC as part of its ongoing efforts to promote awareness, uphold dignity, and ensure compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (SHWW Act, 2013).
