CUK observes World Health Day at Tulmulla Campus

Ganderbal, Apr 7: Health Centre, Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW) Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in collaboration with District Non-Communicable Disease Division, CMO and BMO Ganderbal, Dental and Oral section, District Hospital Ganderbal and Kashmir Eye Hospital observed “World Health Day” under the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures” at varsity’s Tulmulla Campus, a press release said.

Inaugurating the programme, Vice Chancellor, Prof A Ravinder Nath, emphasised the importance of preventive care, early interventions, and community-based health education for ensuring a healthier tomorrow. He said such comprehensive health awareness and screening programmes sensitises the students, faculty and other functionaries of the university about the prevalence of non-communicable diseases and the role of physical activity, mental well-being, and balanced diets.

Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Shahid Rasool in his address, said, the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures” underscores the vital role of early health practices in shaping long-term outcomes. “From maternal and child health to youth mental well-being and the prevention of lifestyle diseases, the message is clear: investing in health from the start is the surest path to a hopeful and productive future,” Prof Shahid said.
