Ganderbal, July 2: The Department of English, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised an informative guest lecture “How to Write an Effective Research Paper, Step by Step Guidance,” delivered by the Professor Lata Dubey from the Department of English, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, at varsity’s Arts Campus here on Monday.

Addressing the participants, Dean School of Languages, Prof (Dr) Sandhya Tiwari, who presided and chaired, over the function, said the objective of organising the lecture was to help students, researchers, and faculty members create well-structured and impactful research papers.

She thanked Prof Lata Dubey for her enlightening lecture and said that more such lectures will be organised in the department in near future. Prof Sandhya expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof A Ravinder Nath, for his support in enhancing the academic culture in the university and promoting the organising of such lectures for the benefit of scholars and students.

In her presentation, Prof Dubey systematically covered essential aspects of writing an effective research paper, including: "Requirements of an Ideal Research Paper, The ‘Yo-Yo Approach’, Coherence and Unity, Direct Quotation, Paraphrase, Secondary Resources." She also discussed gathering of information by using reliable sources like academic journals, books, and reputable websites.

The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, wherein participants actively engaged with Prof Dubey, seeking further clarification and insights on the topic. The session ended with the concluding remarks by the chair.

Prof Sandhya Tiwari proposed the vote of thanks and research scholar Eiman G, conducted the programme.
