CUK holds health camp for hygiene workers
Ganderbal, Oct 9: Under the theme "Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir," the National Service Scheme (NSS) at the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised a health camp for hygiene workers at the university’s Green Campus on Tuesday.
The camp aimed to promote the health and well-being of sanitation workers and was part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
Addressing the participants, Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath appreciated the work of hygiene workers and announced that more camps for sanitation workers would be organized in the near future.
Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Shahid Rasool mentioned that counseling sessions for sanitation workers would also be conducted at the university.
Earlier, health screenings and counseling sessions were conducted by Dr Abid, Medical Officer, and his team. He also delivered a presentation on health and hygiene.
Health kits containing masks, sanitizers, gloves, and other essentials were distributed by the Vice-Chancellor among the sanitation workers.
The event was attended by Dr. Shanaz Akther, Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Dr. Bandu Matiyal, Dr. Hilal Ahmad—NSS Program Officers of CUK—and other teaching and non-teaching staff.
Dr Shabir Ahmad Ahanger, NSS Programme Coordinator, briefed attendees about the activities organized by the NSS. Dr. Kaukab Azeem, Head of the Department of Physical Education, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, NSS PO, conducted the event.
