Pune, Oct 6: The three-day international conference on “NEP-2020 Analytics and Bhartiya Gyan Sampada: A Pragmatic Perspective” began on Sunday, jointly organized by the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), Ajeenkya D Y Patil University, and Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal in blended mode. The conference aims to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, educationists, and policymakers to deliberate on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into modern education.

A statement said that the event was inaugurated byB. R. Shankaranand, Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, and Prof. Anil Sahastrabuddhe, Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Other speakers included Prof. Kishore G. Kulkarni (Metropolitan State University, Denver, USA), Col. (Prof.) Rajendrakumar Anayath, Prof. Shriram Chauthaiwale (NCERT), and Prof. Shailendra K. Deolankar (Government of Maharashtra).

In his address, CUKashmir Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath highlighted NEP 2020’s transformative vision, emphasizing learner-centric education, equitable and inclusive learning, multidisciplinary approaches, and digital education models.

He classified learners into three categories—self-motivated, average, and passive—and stressed NEP 2020’s role in bridging these gaps to transform universities into centers of excellence.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor of ADYPU, underscored the importance of innovation and multidisciplinary education, while Prof. Sahastrabuddhe emphasized hands-on internships in IKS to connect students with India’s cultural and intellectual heritage. Shri Shankaranand highlighted the role of teaching as a noble profession, advocating for NEP 2020 as rooted in Bharatiya drishti, combining knowledge, life sciences, and cultural heritage, envisioning India as Vishwaguru in the coming decade.
