CSIR-IIIM organises workshop on commercial floriculture
Jammu, June 7: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu organized a capacity-building workshop on commercial floriculture for 96 farmers, including women, from Ramban district.
The workshop, held in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Batote, focused on scientific crop production and management techniques. The farmers received quality planting material of high-yielding marigold varieties and training on cultivation practices.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director of CSIR-IIIM, highlighted the institute's efforts under the CSIR Floriculture Mission to boost the commercial floriculture sector in the UT, leading to increased income and livelihood opportunities for farmers. He emphasized the Mission's role in fostering agri-based startups and enterprises.
