CRPF personnel dies in road mishap

Ramban, Sep 29: A CRPF personnel was killed whereas an autorickshaw driver was injured after a rashly driven vehicle (Scorpio),, hit them near Saheedi Chowk area of Kishtwar town on Sunday.

Police sources said a rashly and negligently driven vehicle (Scorpio) bearing registration number JK17A-8111, hit a pedestrian, and Auto resulting in both pedestrian and Auto driver sustained injuries. Both were taken to nearby District Hospital Kishtwar where critically injured pedestrian succumbed whereas injured Auto driver was responding to the treatment.

The deceased was identified as CRPF Head Constable of 52 battalion, Raj Kumar son of Jagdish Raj resident of Baga Chack,Kathua.

Police identified the injured Auto driver as Towkir Ahmed, son Farooq Ahmed Naike resident of Simna colony Kishtwar.

The vehicle involved in the accident was seized and driver involved in committing the accident was arrested.

A police officer said that a case FIR No, 238 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kishtwar for further investigations.
